After finishing Kuching Marathon in 2017, I decided to put on my shoe on the 3rd day for a short run. Thinking that I should not be taking too much break and to keep the momentum going.
After running for a while, I feel something different and there are some pulling pain from my calf and thigh. I continued for a while and it got worse and eventually I stopped. I have not given my body sufficient rest that it need for recovery.
After Kagoshima Marathon 2018, I told myself to rest for a week before starting again. I feel better this time and still, I am taking it slowly.
Important lesson to be learnt, don’t be afraid to rest, it’s worse if you got yourself injured for not resting. Thus, don’t be shy if you are not running today, your body might just want to take a break.
