I once told people that when I am going overseas for Marathon, I will go for a Full Marathon instead of a Half. Reason being that since I am already there, I will just complete the full distance instead of covering just half of it.
However, this does not mean that running half the distance is anything less than running the full distance. It still takes both the commitment and endurance to complete the race and not to mention the time spend in training for this.
For those who are having doubt of completing Half Marathon, do not. You are not running against anyone or any distance, you are running against yourself. You have yourself to race against and not any other person. Thus, as long as you think that’s the distance that you are going, go for it!
There’s other priorities in life other than completing Marathon. For me, this is just part of it.
